Bursa Şilahi Figs are a prized Turkish variety known for their striking size, glossy purple skin, and intensely sweet, amber-colored flesh. These figs are typically larger than average, with a bold, syrupy flavor that makes them a standout for fresh eating and gourmet applications. The skin is thin and smooth, offering a pleasant texture when eaten fresh, while the rich interior makes them equally suitable for drying or high-end desserts. Bursa Şilahi figs are especially favored in Mediterranean markets and have gained a reputation for their high sugar content and consistent quality.

This variety produces a single, substantial main crop in late summer and prefers warm, dry climates. Though not as cold-hardy as some other figs, Bursa Şilahi can be grown successfully in containers and overwintered indoors in colder regions.
