Lampeira Branca (also known as Lampa Branca) is a highly productive and prized Portuguese fig variety native to the Algarve region, renowned for its light green to greenish-yellow skin and rich honey flavor. The interior flesh ranges from light amber to deep translucent red, featuring a remarkably juicy, syrupy texture with a smooth melt and a very slight seed crunch. This exceptional biferous variety is highly regarded for fresh eating, drying beautifully for winter storage, and reliably producing two generous crops a year without requiring wasp pollination.
