LSU Tiger, also known as Tiger or Giant Celeste, is a productive fig developed by the LSU AgCenter. It produces medium to large fruit with striped, light brown to purple skin and a closed eye, which helps resist souring in humid climates. The flesh is light red to pink with a sweet, melon-like flavor and smooth texture. It ripens a bit later than LSU O’Rourke but offers a richer taste. LSU Tiger is ideal for fresh eating and performs well in Southern heat and humidity with minimal care.
