The Petite Negri fig, also known as the "little black" fig, is a tiny but mighty variety that produces sweet and flavorful fruits. Despite its small size, it starts bearing fruit when it's just a foot tall and reaches a maximum height of 4-6 feet when fully mature. This natural dwarf is ideal for warm locations and produces two crops annually. The dark fruits boast a wine-red interior and a delightful, rich sweetness. While similar to the Violette de Bordeaux, the Petite Negri ripens earlier and has a more compact growth habit.
