Sweet Diana:

An italian heirloom from NYCfigs. Sweet Diana is very vigorous and grows like a weed.  Probably a Celeste variant.  She produces 2 crops of small light green/tan to light purple figs. Thin, soft skin that’s very easy to bite into.  Strawberry red pulp.  Small cavity. Pleasing texture.  Light to no seed crunch.  Light fig flavor and very, very sweet. This is a variety the kids really enjoy because of the sweetness.  Fair amount of juice when picked at just the right time.  Tight eye.  Very rain and insect tolerant. Very cold hardy.  Excellent variety for potted culture but better in-ground.  No pollination required.

Longue D'Aout:

Bluemalibu @ OurFigs: This has been a robust grower for me; a first-year tree that is 5’x4′, and extremely prolific. The fig’s flavor is really intriguing, it’s like a honey/apricot/mango blend. Soft, (almost fragile) skin. Very nice… and I am one that usually isn’t a big fan of honey/sugar figs.

Robert Harper @ OurFigs: Discovered in the Niagara area. We just started testing it here this year, 2012. So, we have no cold hardy data yet. But, Niagara is a zone 6b, and the soil in the Niagara area is not noted for being dry. It has been reported that it is a very good tasting fig, by collectors who have tasted many different figs.

Spadafora Unknown:

One of the finest tasting figs, produces an abundance of small to medium sized purple-black fruit with an excellent, sweet, rich flavor.

Boston Unknown #12:

The mother fig tree does not die back to the ground like other figs in the area during winter even though it is uncovered. This is an amazing feature. Most of the figs that I have seen in the area and the ones I have tested in my own trial all die back to the ground in the winter climate. However, the Boston #12 fig tree does experience some die-back every year, but only on the younger shoots.
