Verte is a premium green-skinned fig variety admired for its rich, berry-like flavor and vivid red interior. The fruit is small to medium in size, with a smooth, deep green exterior that conceals a dense, jammy, strawberry-colored pulp. The flavor is bold, sweet, and complex—often compared to strawberry preserves—making it one of the most flavorful green figs available. Its thin, edible skin and syrupy texture make it ideal for fresh eating, drying, or gourmet preserves.
Verte ripens reliably in warm climates and produces a strong main crop. Its excellent flavor, striking interior, and compact growth make it a favorite among fig collectors and home growers.
